Own and oversee athletic department communications, building and safeguarding records, managing student staff, and driving storytelling across media relations, social channels, and game-day coverage.

Coordinate awards, events, and photo/video coverage with coaches and marketing.

Responsibilities

Primary Function : Coordinate all aspects of media relations, management of student employees and maintaining accurate records and files
Maintain and develop current social media channels
Coordinate game day video broadcasts
Prepare all game programs
Maintain all (in-season, career & historical) material for the Region and NJCAA statistics and materials
Prepare hometown stories, releases, and feature stories for student-athletes/coaches
Maintain department web site (currently Presto Sports)
Coordinate photo coverage for all varsity sports to include action, team and individual athlete photos
Write sports wrap-ups on each varsity sport for external release and use in other publications
Responsible for the nomination of student-athletes for scholarships, awards, including: Academic all-conference, All-Americas; weekly and seasonal Region 4 honors

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Strong leadership, role modeling, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Must have an understanding of collegiate regulations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Be a self-starter and have exceptionally strong writing and editing capabilities, strong project-management capabilities, be a team player, think creatively, and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
This position will require working nights, weekends, lifting light equipment and some travel.
Knowledge of the digital media landscape including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Snapchat.
Knowledgeable in the use of cutting-edge social media tools and technologies to help take our social channels to the next level.

Preferred

Experience in a college sports information office or comparable environment, preferred.
Graphic design, web and video editing experience a plus.
