Own social media content support for the Illinois State Fair, driving post creation, real-time content capture, and trend-informed engagement while handling light office tasks.

  • Social Media: Help generate posts and apply current trends to boost engagement.
  • Content Gathering: Capture photos/videos during the fair to feed social channels.
  • Editorial Support: Suggest timely post ideas and contribute to content planning.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supports professional staff in generating social media posts for the Illinois State Fair
  • Assists in gathering content by taking photos and videos during the fair
  • Contributes suggestions for timely and engaging posts utilizing knowledge of social media trends
  • Assists with general office work including answering the phone, performing data entry, and answering basic questions from the public
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school.
  • Requires active enrollment at a college.
  • Requires the ability to successfully pass a background check and self disclosure of criminal history.

Preferred

  • Prefers basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Prefers experience working in a business or public organization creating social media posts.
  • Prefers experience maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
