Responsibilities

Consistently publish engaging content that promotes Emgage’s messaging–including short videos, photos, and branded graphics–on Emgage social media profiles, with an emphasis on Instagram, BlueSky/Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and LinkedIn.
Design, write, and create content for social media posts and occasional paid digital ads.
Attend Emgage events in coordination with the Communications Director to create content and provide communications support, including photography and live streaming, as needed.
Identify trends across social media platforms and other communications channels on a regular basis.
Plan and manage the social media content calendar on Asana.
Liaise with state chapters to uplift engaging content about Emgage’s organizing and voter mobilization efforts.
Maintain Linktree for social media.
Track performance metrics, and monitor social media for mentions.
Develop monthly reports for social media stats.
Create social media toolkits for influencers, events, and for grass roots issue advocacy.

Requirements

Education Level: Bachelors
Years of Experience: 1-3 years
Must be located in the Washington, DC Metro area with experience in any of the following: political campaigns, communications, public affairs, or journalism.
Familiarity with video editing software and graphic design software (Canva and Adobe)
Experience with website, social media, video, and graphic design software. Systems Emgage currently uses include but are not limited to:
WordPress
Hootsuite
EveryAction
Asana
Strong project and time management skills
