The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 179-year-old Olivet College becoming The University of Olivet at its May 19, 2023 board meeting to be more indicative of the comprehensive institution it has evolved into. Founded in 1844, The University of Olivet is located in south central Michigan, 30 miles south of Lansing and 125 miles west of Detroit. The University of Olivet is a private, liberal arts institution offering more than 30 bachelor's degree programs in an immersive, relationship-based residential experience and online degree completion and master's programs. Olivet is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
