Sustainable Finger Lakes

Sustainable Finger Lakes (formerly Sustainable Tompkins) is a nonprofit dedicated to building a thriving, resilient region through shared efforts to create social equity, ecological stewardship, and economic vitality. Since 2004, we have worked across 15 counties to unite people, businesses, and leaders in shaping a sustainable future that can withstand the challenges ahead.Through education and direct support, we have facilitated initiatives in energy efficiency, climate protection, green economy, food sufficiency, healthy infrastructure, and social justice. The organization plays a key role in supporting a growing regional movement: uniting citizen leaders, businesses, and community members—from the Pennsylvania border to the Great Lakes—to build a future rooted in sustainable design and participatory democracy.Together, we have the opportunity to take bold, coordinated action that not only protects what we love today but also builds a stronger, more resilient future for generations to come.We are a nonprofit 501c3 corporation.
