Saint Catherine's Hospice

Saint Catherine’s provides specialist palliative care and support for adults with a terminal illness and to their families, carers and friends. Around half of our patients are learning to live with cancer and the remainder have a diagnosis from a wide range of other illnesses such as heart disease; respiratory conditions; end stage kidney and liver disease and neurological illnesses.At Saint Catherine’s we offer individualised, specialist care that takes a holistic approach. From managing patients’ pain and other physical symptoms through to supporting psychological, social and spiritual wellbeing, we aim to achieve the best quality of life for the patient, family and carers.Patients do not need to come and stay in the hospice in order to access our services. We can provide Hospice at Home, taking our services to the patient in the place that they choose to live. Patients can also visit our Wellbeing Centre or attend an outpatient clinic.We work across a large geographical area of approximately 1600 square miles encompassing the boroughs of Scarborough, Ryedale, Whitby and parts of East Yorkshire.
