Not only does this sign represent the hard work and fierce determination of the millers who toiled beneath it; it is a beacon for those seeking an environment that celebrates and rewards heartfelt effort.Yukon marks the junction of two iconic routes that Americans have long traveled in pursuit of a more rewarding future. Our town’s founder, more than a century ago, named Yukon for a place that seekers and optimists were rushing to in search of gold. That spirit still lives on today. You might say that, along with being where Route 66 crosses the Chisholm Trail, Yukon is at the junction of optimism and grit. Of course, we’re proud of what we’ve all helped make here. People flock from all over to be part of our festivals. Diverse retail offerings and restaurants attract guests from across the region. And lots of amenities combined with affordability mean our quality of life is pretty darn amazing too (which is probably why Business Week magazine named us Best Affordable Suburb). We’re even home to some of the world’s finest cattle and most famous Clydesdales. Yukon just brings out the best in people. And we think that’s a message worth putting in lights.
