Job Summary

Own and articulate high-impact, cross-channel strategy for Tier 1 clients, leading proactive ideation, narrative curation, and senior-level relationship management across the full ecommerce ecosystem.

  • Define bold cross-channel strategies aligned with client goals
  • Lead strategic meetings and escalation where needed
  • Drive portfolio growth through upselling and scope control

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Industry-Leading Strategy for our Tier 1 clients: Autonomously, lead the development of industry-leading, bold, and innovative cross-channel digital marketing strategies, deeply understanding client objectives, targets, and performance to drive their success.
  • Pioneer New Opportunities and ways of working: Our top tier clients are often our first step into new platforms, channels and innovations. Spearhead testing and innovation with support from the Heads of Channel in order to build agency case studies to roll out across our wider client portfolio.
  • Channel-Agnostic Gap Evaluation: Operate entirely 'channel agnostic' to deliver true Big Picture Thinking. Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and market insights, proactively identifying their impact on client strategies, and collaborate with Heads of Channel to refine and innovate channel-specific strategies
  • Curating the Narrative: Take absolute ownership of digesting and curating the reporting narrative. You must translate the data and methodologies provided by the Innovation and Delivery Hub into a compelling, easy-to-understand commercial story that proves our value to the client.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Act as the primary strategic point of contact for resolving complex client challenges and independently leading high-level crisis management. Escalate to the Head of Client Strategy when a major account is at critical risk of churning, or an issue requires an agency-wide or board-level commercial intervention.
  • Connect the dots across the ecommerce landscape; Make use and add to the network of respected partners in the wider ecommerce space to help solve our clients challenges and upsell relevant opportunities.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of key industry trends and market insights, proactively identifying their impact on client strategies (with data inputs from the Innovation and Delivery Hub)
  • Continuous Development: Continually build your own personal awareness, knowledge, and skills across all marketing channels (both Genie Goals offerings or otherwise) to remain at the cutting edge of the industry.
  • The Ultimate Gatekeeper: Act as the strategic shield for the Innovation & Delivery Hub. You must confidently set and hold clear boundaries with clients to prevent scope creep, ensuring all technical requests are translated into crystal-clear briefs and formally signed off before execution begins.
  • One clear view; Be the clients’ eyes at Genie Goals - ensure they have full visibility of their roadmap, their deliverables and their performance, (can be often across multiple markets or brands). Give your clients the confidence that nothing is missed with a clear and concise all-encompassing view.

Genie Ventures

Genie Ventures is a rapidly growing digital marketing and publishing company. We run a stable of successful businesses including the UK’s first broadband comparison site (Broadband Genie) and a number of specialist comparison sites. We’ve also taken everything we’ve learned from growing these sites and created an internationally recognised, award winning performance marketing agency (Genie Goals). We’re based near Cambridge city centre, with a staff of more than 50 fantastic people, although our reach is global - operating in the UK, European and US markets. We are tech-focused having developed our own technology in house, and work closely with some of the biggest brands in the world including Google, Amazon, Karl Lagerfeld and Sky.Genie Ventures is a fabulous company to work for; then we would say that, wouldn’t we? It’s not just us saying it though – in recent times we’ve won a prestigious Working Mums Top Employer Award; and been a finalist for the Amazon Growing Business Awards Employer of the Year, The Cambridge News Business Awards Employer of the Year Award and the British Small Business Awards Small Business of the Year. We’ve achieved this by developing a unique culture based on developing our team and trusting them; with Genies being encouraged to learn and develop in a supportive yet ambitious environment. And we’ve managed to maintain a wide-eyed and fearless start-up mentality despite massive growth in both staff numbers and profitability.A huge perk of being a Genie is the sense of fun and togetherness that comes from working in a sociable, fun, caring and creative environment. In addition you’ll find an enviable selection of benefits, from table football and board games to a kitchen stocked to bursting with posh tea and coffee, fruit and other goodies – ready and waiting for you when you join our happy family.
