Inspired by the island’s character and natural beauty, company founder and CEO, Kay Stanley, imagined how linen and leather could marry with colorful patterns and timeless island stories. That thought became a beautifully coordinated handbag collection beloved by women everywhere. Oh, how that idea grew. Spartina 449 is now internationally known and offers an evolving array of products that continue to be inspired by the small, flavorful island we call home. Spartina 449 donates a portion of its proceeds to the Daufuskie Island Historical Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to education, scientific discovery and charity for the purpose of the preservation of the cultural heritage of Daufuskie.
