Own the college’s social media content strategy and execution, driving storytelling, real-time event coverage, and community engagement across multiple platforms while collaborating with campus partners.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements a content strategy for the college’s primary social media channels (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X/Twitter).
- Monitors trends and analytics to optimize engagement and reach.
- Generates original content including written posts, graphics, videos, and photo stories.
- Plans and executes real-time coverage of campus events, student life, and special announcements.
- Interviews students, alumni, and staff to write and share their stories and testimonials.
- Captures and edits high-quality photos and video footage to use across digital platforms.
- Creates short-form videos optimized for social media.
- Ensures content aligns with brand and accessibility standards.
- Serves as the voice of the college on social media, responding to comments and messages in a timely and authentic manner.
- Cultivates an engaging online community through interactive posts and campaigns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field required.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience managing social media accounts for an organization required.
- Strong writing, editing, photography, and video production skills required.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, scheduling tools, and Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or Lightroom) required.
- Familiarity with content analytics and reporting tools required.
- May be eligible for remote work up to two days per week.
Preferred
- Experience working in higher education or a mission-driven organization is preferred.
