Job Description
Responsibilities
- This is a senior individual-contributor and building role that creates the operating cadence, relationships, and processes needed to surface important developments early and translate complex clinical, operational, and technology priorities into credible external narratives.
- Leads the day-to-day public relations and earned media strategy for RPCS and Mosaic, maintaining the integrity of each narrative while identifying where the two intersect and when they should remain separate.
- Builds and owns a rolling twelve-month editorial and earned-media calendar that anticipates industry moments, including policy shifts, reimbursement changes, clinical society meetings, and technology milestones.
- Translates complex clinical, operational, and artificial intelligence subject matter into narratives that land with national business, healthcare trade, and technology press.
- Identifies emerging themes early and converts them into positioning opportunities before competitors define the conversation.
- Partners with marketing, investor relations, government affairs, and clinical leadership so external messaging stays consistent with enterprise strategy.
- Builds and sustains direct relationships with priority reporters, editors, analysts, and podcast hosts across healthcare, health technology, and national business media.
- Directs proactive pitching, story development, exclusives, embargoes, and desk-side briefings.
- Writes and edits releases, statements, bylines, op-eds, and question-and-answer documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications, including at least three years leading a function, an agency account of scale, or a major program.
- Demonstrated results securing high-value national business, healthcare trade, and technology coverage, with a track record of personally developing, pitching, or directing successful stories.
- Experience in healthcare, health technology, life sciences, or another highly regulated and technically complex industry.
- Proven crisis and issues management experience with direct exposure to legal and compliance review.
- Exceptional writing and editing under deadline, with a portfolio that ranges from a two-hundred-word statement to a full-length op-ed.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity across multiple brands, stakeholders, and geographies, with limited existing process to inherit.
- Experience communicating artificial intelligence or clinical technology to non-technical audiences.
- A background in journalism, or experience inside a private-equity-backed or high-growth organization.
- Familiarity with physician-led, multi-site, federated, or multi-practice organizations.
