Job Summary

Support the communications team by creating and updating social content, coordinating PR projects, and driving the KDA Photo Contest, while assisting with websites, events, and publication materials to ensure consistent, stakeholder-friendly outreach.

  • Social & Content: Plan and maintain engaging social media content across channels.
  • Project & Event Support: Assist the PR/ Communications Directors and help execute public-facing campaigns and events.
  • Public Materials & Outreach: Create brochures, videos, and publications to promote KDA activities and programs.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and maintain social media content
  • Provide project support to the Public Relations Director and Communications Director
  • Take a lead role in the KDA Photo Contest
  • Help maintain KDA website
  • Provide support at events as needed (e.g., Kansas Ag Summit)
  • Create, edit, and update promotional materials and publications (brochures, videos, social media posts etc.)
  • Provide administrative support for projects as needed for the Secretary and executive team
  • Assist with front office customer service as needed

Requirements

  • Going into junior or senior year at an accredited college or university pursuing an advanced degree.
  • This position must perform routine office tasks such as sitting, reading, examining documents, and viewing a computer for long periods of time.
  • Employee must have a valid Class C (or higher) Kansas driver’s license or equivalent license from another state. Employee is responsible to maintain an acceptable driving record to safely drive state vehicle and be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.

Preferred

  • Ag communications, journalism and marketing majors are preferred (not required).
  • Familiarity with video/photo editing (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (preferred).
  • Knowledge of different social media platforms (preferred).
