Job Summary
Own the private equity HR advisory path across the deal lifecycle, building trust with PE clients and portfolio execs while driving HC value in M&A engagements.
- Own relationship development with PE clients and Marsh teams to shape Mercer HC advisory during due diligence, integration, and exit prep.
- Lead HC workstreams across total rewards, HR systems, and employee benefits inside portfolio companies to influence deal outcomes and value capture.
- Collaborate with Mercer Transaction Advisory and Marsh managers to package solutions and fuel business development.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Serve as the key intersection point between Mercer and Marsh, building strong rapport and relationships with Marsh PEMA team members, and acting as the go-to Mercer human capital advisory lead for private equity clients and their portfolio companies.
- Build and deepen long-term relationships with private equity firms, portfolio company executives, and key stakeholders to understand their investment philosophy and operational priorities.
- Lead all areas of human capital by delivering Mercer’s services to private equity clients and their portfolio companies throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and capturing value-added opportunities throughout M&A engagements, including post-investment and exit preparation, ensuring high client satisfaction and long-term partnership sustainability.
- Collaborate with Mercer Transaction Advisory leaders and other Mercer practice consultants to provide guidance and leadership in delivering client solutions, while proactively supporting business development alongside Marsh client managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 10 years of Private Equity M&A HR, human capital, and employee benefits experience with deep knowledge of deal cycles, deal structures, value drivers, and the M&A landscape.
- Advanced understanding of private equity and portfolio company dynamics.
- Proficient knowledge of business models, finance, and industry terminology.
- Proven client acquisition and relationship management skills managing complex, multi-level stakeholder relationships.
- Experience supporting HR-related business transformation initiatives.
- Solid foundation in all areas of human capital (e.g., total rewards, HR systems).
- Established project management and time management capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with AI tools.

- Ability to strategically align clients’ business needs with human capital levers by integrating deep knowledge of M&A, private equity, and Mercer’s diverse business lines to architect comprehensive, value-driven solutions.
