Own and execute media relations and influencer outreach for outdoor brands, managing media lists, pitches, coverage reporting, and campaign support across multiple Verde clients.

Job Description
Responsibilities
- Build and manage media lists and maintain relationships with media, influencers, athletes, and brand partners. This includes researching editorial calendars and media kits for relevant opportunities
- Monitor and report on media coverage and campaign performance using tools like Cision or similar. This may include the compilation of circulation reports, blogging media coverage, quarterly activity reports, and support building of tactical plans based on strategy outlined by management
- Draft initial press releases, media alerts, and editorial pitches
- Distribute press releases to trade and consumer facing media as requested
- Support the team with logistics and planning of press trips, scheduling media appointments at industry shows, and event support
- Stay consistent, organized and diligent in tracking forecasted coverage, product placements, securing interviews for clients
- Support in the management of influencer and ambassador outreach programs and social media campaigns
- Stay up to date with trends in categories like hiking, running, snowsports and outdoor lifestyle, as well as in digital media
- Stay up to date with brand news and key seasonal products for media outreach and strategy
- Organize materials for press kits which may include handling shipping products and mailings to media throughout the year
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience (including internships and course work) in PR, communications, journalism, or media (agency or in-house)
- Demonstrable knowledge and enthusiasm for the outdoor, run, bike, and/or snowsports industries
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to multitask across accounts
- Comfortable pitching media and managing media databases (e.g., MuckRack, Meltwater, Cision)
- Familiarity with influencer marketing and social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
- Team player with strong organizational and client servicing skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally (e.g., to sales meetings or events, 1-4 times per year)
Preferred
- Experience with snowsports, hiking/backpacking, or endurance brands, events, or publications
- Content creation or social media campaign experience is a bonus
- Familiarity or interest with any of the following: SEO, eCommerce, DTC businesses, AI, or outdoor retail

Upon the completion of one year of continuous employment with Verde, this will be increased to equal 120 hours (15 days) of paid vacation per year. Upon completion of 2 years of continuous employment with Verde, this will be increased to equal 160 hours (20 days) of paid vacation per year
- Holiday Time Off: 13-15 paid Federal and Verde Holidays per year (including the week prior to New Year's)
