Must Love Dogs and Comedy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that produces comedy shows people can bring their dog to that raise money for animal rescue, and promote diversity in comedy. They are on a mission to challenge the status quo of traditional comedy shows by supporting animal rescue and wellness, fostering a community of support and inclusivity, and creating space for underrepresented performers. So far, they have:- Raised over $24,000 for animal rescue and wellness- Featured over 350+ diverse comedians nationwide- Been hailed as “the happiest place in NYC!” by TimeOut NY and were recently featured on the Emmy award-winning PBS docuseries "Shelter Me"When NYC venues started opening back up after quarantine in Spring 2021, dog lovers struggled to return to ‘normal life’ and care for pandemic pups. People were excited to go out and reconnect with family and friends, but they had to leave their pups at home. Additionally, it is 2024, and representation and inclusivity of historically underrepresented groups in comedy are still a very visible issue.So we thought, “Hey, why not produce a comedy show where people can bring their dogs, that supports animal rescue and wellness and creates space for underrepresented performers?” Voila, Must Love Dogs and Comedy was born!Areas of Impact: - Animal rescue & wellness: Raise money and awareness for dogs in need of adoption and fostering- Diversity & Inclusion: Lineups predominantly feature Womxn, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and POC Performers AND diversity in talent (i.e., stand-up, sketch, character, musical performances etc.)- Pet care: Educate pet owners on latest products/services to best care for their furry palsMust Love Dogs and Comedy produces public, private, and corporate dog-friendly events. They can also be booked to Host or MC your gathering. A portion of all ticket sales and bookings is donated to animal rescues and shelters worldwide! Get ready to laugh and sniff each other's butts!
